Chelsea And Promising Midfielder Of Nigerian Descent Make Progress In Contract Renewal Talks
Chelsea and Faustino Anjorin are close to sealing an agreement on the midfielder's contract extension after several weeks of negotiations.

Goal.com UK has reported that Chelsea have made progress over contract talks with Anjorin but still need to tie up several small details with their academy star in the coming weeks.

Chelsea are attempting to convince the Poole born starlet of Nigerian descent that his future lies with the club and they have put a five-year deal on the table.

The Stamford Bridge outfit have one factor working for them during the high-level negotiations, with manager Frank Lampard handing the highly-rated teenager his Premier League debut off the bench against Everton in the last game before the league went on break.

Anjorin's current contract with Chelsea comes to an end in June 2021 and he can start negotiating with a foreign club in the next nine and a half months, assuming he doesn't ink a new deal.

Meanwhile, another Chelsea Academy product of Nigerian descent, Jordan Aina could be moving onto pastures new at the end of the 2019-2020 season.

The former England U16 international, who signed scholarship forms along with Anjorin in the summer of 2018, tried his luck with Swansea City last month with a view to a transfer.
