Saka's Arsenal Contract Extension Held Up By COVID-19 Enforced Shutdown
Arsenal winger cum left back Bukayo Saka was expected to have his contract extension at the club wrapped up as the summer transfer beckons but has had to wait longer as the shutdown on football due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

This piece of information was shared by ace journalist David Ornstein who is an authority when it comes to Arsenal news.

The Athletic reporter in a Question and Answer session cleared the air on the delay.

"Nope, didn't get it done before lockdown despite pushing hard and now all quiet as Arsenal focus on their proposed wage cut negotiations," Ornstein stated.

"They'll be keen to tie him down asap, especially as he is coveted by many clubs. He only earns £5kpw so can expect a big uplift whatever happens and regardless of the current crisis."

The Anglo-Nigerian who is eligible to play for the Super Eagles as his father hails from South western part of Nigeria has scored three goals and provided nine assists from his left back position in the absence of injured duo of Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac.

It remains to be seen which position he is billed to play in next season as the Gunners are reportedly set to announce the signing of PSG left back Layvin Kurzawa.
