Maguire's Transfer To Man Utd : Ndidi Explains Why Leicester Are Not Missing England Defender
Harry Maguire became the most expensive defender in history last summer after sealing a transfer to Manchester United for a fee of eighty million pounds.

Though the England center back was one of the most important players in the Leicester City squad, the King Power Stadium outfit have done better this season without him as they were placed third on the table before the Premier League was halted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Only champions-in-waiting Liverpool and this season's surprise package Sheffield United have conceded fewer goals than the Foxes over the course of 29 matches.

Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi has explained that Leicester City have maintained an upward trajectory despite the loss of Maguire because manager Brendan Rodgers does not build his team around one player.

Asked why Leicester City are going up despite losing Maguire, Ndidi told ESPN journalist Colin Udoh in an Instagram conversation : "It is the Brendan Rodgers effect, it's not just about the eleven players that play, the players on the bench, even the U23 players, he carries everybody along, so there is always space for anybody to fill in.

"He's the kind of coach that believes in the squad, not just focusing on one player, the squad comes first. "

Of the 28 goals shipped in by Leicester City in the Premier League this term, they conceded eight without Ndidi in the squad.
