'Finishing Fourth Above Liverpool' - Yobo Reveals Best Moment As An Everton Player

Retired Nigeria national-teamer Joseph Yobo has revealed that his best moment as an Everton player was finishing fourth above city rivals Liverpool during the 2004-2005 season.

Another moment he cherishes is playing every single minute for the Toffees in the Premier League in the 2006-2007 campaign.

Credited with 257 appearances for Everton across all competitions, Yobo could have played more games for the club if not for international commitments with the Super Eagles at five Africa Cup of Nations.

"The national team was a big blessing for me to become who I am today, without the national team there won't have been Joseph Yobo," the Super Eagles assistant coach said on Instagram Live.

"I would have played even more games for Everton had it been I wasn't a national team player because I missed a lot of games during the Africa Cup of Nations.

"I played about five, six Africa Cup of Nations, these were special moments but overall the one that stands out for me is finishing fourth in 2005 above Liverpool and qualifying for the Champions League.

"That was a special moment for myself, the club and the fans - to finish fourth. For Everton to break into that top four was a huge achievement.

"Another special moment for me was 2006-2007 season to play every minute throughout the whole season but I wasn't looking for this, I was playing one game as it goes and being able to do well. "

Yobo initially joined Everton on loan from Marseille after the 2002 World Cup, before the move was made permanent the following season.
