Two Players Of Nigerian Descent Feature As Arsenal Thrash Charlton Athletic 6-0 In Friendly
Two players of Nigerian descent were on parade at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal thrashed Championship side Charlton Athletic 6-0 in a friendly on Saturday, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Wearing the number 10 jersey, Arsenal Academy product Chuks Aneke was given a runout by manager Lee Bowyer, who played a different team in each half, while Bukayo Saka tasted action for the Gunners.

Aneke came close to scoring with a header to the ground but was denied by an excellent save from goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

The one-time Nigeria Football Federation target spent thirteen years at Arsenal before he was released in the summer of 2014 after making only one appearance for the first team against Shrewsbury Town in the League Cup in September 2011.

A hat-trick from Eddie Nketiah and goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Joe Willock secured a comprehensive win for Mikel Arteta's team.

Arsenal's first game back is against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, June 17, followed by matches against Brighton & Hove, Southampton and Norwich City.
