'Chukwueze Is Way Better Than Messi' - Barcelona Striker, Fans Hail Super Eagle After Starring Vs Celta Vigo
Published: June 13, 2020Samuel Chukwueze turned on the style for Spanish La Liga side Villarreal after coming off the bench on Saturday, thus inspiring them to a 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo.
The Nigerian was introduced for Gerrard Moreno after 58 minutes, and he came very close to breaking the deadlock late on when he took on the while Celta defence in a Messi-esque solo run but was denied by a sensational stop by the goalkeeper.
Fans all over the world, including Barcelona Femeni striker Asisat Oshoala, were impressed with the lively youngster who was involved in the build-up to the game-winning goal scored by Manu Trigueros and were effusive of his praise on Twitter.
Below were some of the reactions:
@oyimzy: Dear Samuel Chukwueze, I kindly urge you to leave Villarreal and spain now, those lots don't know your worth!
@Tee_classicquem1: Samuel chukwueze is way better than Messi
@AsisatOshoala: That energetic drive by @chukwueze_8 was too beautiful 🤯🤯🤯......
@_ibrahimaffiz: Just look at those crazy moves from Chukwueze🔥 🇳🇬 he needs to leave Villarreal for a better team
@iamthollex: Samuel Chukwueze >>>>> Lionel Messi Argue with your keyboards
@PapiloAFC: Our own Samuel chukwueze came off from bench to help Villarreal secore. Our own man is back.
@MarcusBr22: To take Chukwueze on for the last 30 minutes against tired opponents is a cheat code, a guarantee for chance creation and overall chaos. Gave life to Villarreal when they looked dead.
@JDNalton: No Chukwueze, no Yellow Submarine party. Good direct play from the Nigerian to create the chance ahead of this goal.
@Emzyl23: Chukwueze is at the point where he needs to take his game to the next level, and for that to happen he needs to leave Spain and play under a better manager, nothing for him to learn anymore at Villarreal, a move to the EPL should be his priority.
