Published: September 22, 2020Queens Park Rangers head coach Mark Warburton was in attendance at Harlington on Tuesday afternoon as the U23 team thrashed Ipswich Town 5-0 in a Professional Development League fixture, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Two Nigeria-eligible strikers Aramide Oteh and Olamide Shodipo who have both figured for the first team in the League Cup this season were given valuable minutes and impressed the watching Warburton after finding the back of the net.
A third attack-minded player of Nigerian descent in Ody Alfa got a 24-minute runout and won a penalty converted by Shodipo in the 75 minute.
Oteh turned in a cross from Paul Smyth to open the scoring in the tenth minute and doubled the advantage nineteen minutes later when he smashed the ball home, assisted by Shodipo.
Oteh was denied a hat-trick after seeing his penalty comfortably saved by the Ipswich Town goalkeeper in the 39th minute.
Queens Park Rangers' first team are next in action against Middlesbrough and it remains to be seen whether Shodipo and Oteh will make their debuts in the Championship for the 2020-2021 season on Saturday.
