Dad reveals Madrid CFF goal machine wants to play for Nigeria despite call-up to Spain U17s
Jesus Lopez-Serrano Perez, the father of Madrid CFF goal machine Victoria Lopez, has revealed that the highly-rated teenager is open to playing international football for Nigeria despite her recent call-up to a Spain U17 training camp.

Lopez caught the eye of the Spain youth team coaches after scoring a remarkable 60 goals in seventeen matches in the 2020-2021 youth league, 31 goals more than the second highest goalscorer in the division.

The 2006-born center forward qualifies to represent the Flamingoes as she has ties to Nigeria through her mother.

When asked if Victoria is still interested in playing for Nigeria, Perez told allnigeriasoccer.com : "Last week she was summoned to train with Spain U17s, Nigeria is still an option but no one from the Federation has contacted us.

"There might be problems for Nigeria to call her up in the future.

"It would make Vicky very excited if she receives a call-up to play for Nigeria, but it is very likely that in September she will be called up for the Women's U17 EURO qualifiers."

Lopez would become provisionally cap-tied to Spain if she is invited and features in one of their Group A7 qualifying matches against Serbia, Iceland and Northern Ireland.

She has been described as a two-footed striker, good in one-vs-one situations, pacy with excellent dribbling skills.
