'We want the best' - Eguavoen reveals talks with ex-Chelsea star to reverse retirement decision
Augstine Eguavoen says he has spoken with former Chelsea star Victor Moses to reverse his decision to quit the Super Eagles.

The Crystal Palace academy product called time on his international career shortly after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where he started all the group matches played by the national team and was involved in two of their three goals.

Moses explained that he was quitting the Super Eagles because he wanted to  'focus fully on his club career and my young family, as well as to allow the next generation of Super Eagles stars the opportunity to step up and to flourish'.

Eguavoen claims that talks with the Spartak Moscow ace went well and hinted that the winger would have been included in the squad list for the upcoming games against Ghana if not for the current events between Russia and Ukraine.

"Even Victor Moses, I will break the news. We want the best for the country, Victor Moses is somebody I also adore and I'm looking at ways of trying to get him in, we've spoken," Eguavoen said a media briefing monitored by allnigeriasoccer.com.

"He's not part of these games but hopefully as time goes on because we want the best.

"Victor Moses will still bring some value but right now he's also playing in that region so that one is settled."

An African Cup of Nations winner in 2013, Moses scored 12 goals in 38 appearances for the Super Eagles.
