Alarm bells over Chelsea-owned Ghana fullback ahead of 2022 World Cup playoff vs Nigeria
Ghana coach Otto Addo is sweating over the fitness of Abdul-Rahman Baba before announcing his roster for this month's 2022 World Cup playoff matches with regional rivals Nigeria.

The Chelsea-owned left-back is battling a hamstring injury and there are serious doubts over whether he would have fully recovered before the double header against Nigeria.

Baba has not featured for his loan club Reading since going off injured in a 3-2 win at Preston North End, missing the following games in the Championship against Birmingham City, Blackpool and Millwall.

The 27-year-old was a key member of the Black Stars squad to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, starting all their group games in what was a disappointing tournament for the four-time African Champions.

The Super Eagles have injury worries of their own, with Watford center back William Troost-Ekong currently sidelined with a muscle strain.

Ghana will entertain Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday, March 25, starting from 2030 hours and the return match will take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, starting from 1800 hours.
