Azeez involved in Arsenal final workout before trip to Aston Villa
Published: March 18, 2022Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta invited Anglo-Spanish-Nigerian youngster Miguel Azeez to train with the first team in their final workout before the trip to Aston Villa.
The Spanish football tactician monitored the England youth international at close quarters during the training session held at London Colney on Friday.
Other academy players in attendance were Salah-Eddine, Charlie Patino and Zak Swanson, putting them in contention to be included in the provisional matchday squad for the clash against the Lions.
The 19-year-old Azeez has not been named in any matchday squad for the first team so far this season, whereas he made the squad six times last season, including five for Europa League games.
The Hale Ender made his professional debut for the Gunners in an away game against Dundalk in December 2020 - his only first team appearance to date for the London club.
Arsenal opted to cut Azeez's loan spell with Portsmouth short and he has been playing for their development squad since his return to the Emirates.
