Napoli looking to offer Osimhen new deal to fend off Newcastle, Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd interest
Published: March 21, 2022Napoli are reportedly lining up a new contract for their record acquisition Victor Osimhen to ward off interest from Premier League clubs.
Sports journalist Nicolò Schira has informed via Twitter that Newcastle United are preparing a new bid for the Nigeria international in the summer after Napoli rejected an offer of 70 million euros (approximately N32.15 billion in Nigerian currency) in the January transfer window.
Celebrated Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that in addition to Newcastle United, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also interested in Osimhen.
Napoli could offer Osimhen a new deal with improved wages as they hope to keep the Nigerian beyond the end of the 2021-2022 season.
It is confirmed that the Super Eagles number 9 currently takes home 4.5 million (around N2.1 billion) euros per season and is contracted to the Naples club until June 30, 2025.
Osimhen hit the headlines at home and abroad after scoring back-to-back braces in the Italian Serie A before the international beak, taking his tally in the division to eleven goals.
