Nigeria roster change : Enyimba goalkeeper called in to replace Watford loanee
The Nigeria Football Association have made an adjustment to the Super Eagles roster ahead of their 2022 World Cup playoff match against the Black Stars of Ghana, allnigeriasoccer.com has been told.

Enyimba goalkeeper John Noble has been handed a late call-up as a replacement for Watford loanee Maduka Okoye.

Okoye, the undisputed Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, has withdrawn from the 25-man roster on account of illness.

Though he is uncapped for the Super Eagles main team, Noble is not new to the Nigeria setup as he was part of the finalized squad list for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Including the dead rubber clash against Guinea-Bissau during the tournament in Cameroon, the 28-year-old has been an unused substitute on eight occasions for the Super Eagles.

This is the second forced change caretaker manager Augustine Eguavoen is making to his squad as he earlier excluded the injured Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and added Lorient ace Innocent Bonke.

The Super Eagles will hold their first training session at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday evening, starting from 1830 hours.
