Super Eagles star Nantes highest paid player at N823m yearly; Moffi Lorient's top earner at N411m
Published: March 23, 2022Super Eagles stars Moses Simon and Terem Moffi are the highest paid players at Nantes and Lorient respectively.
Celebrated French sports daily L'Equipe has published the salaries of players in the French Ligue 1, with Neymar the best paid with a monthly salary of €4,083,000 followed by PSG teammates Lionel Messi (€3,375,000) and Kylian Mbappe (€2,220,000).
Super Eagles winger Moses Simon is Nantes highest paid player at 150,000 euros per month, meaning he takes home 1.8 million euros (equivalent of N823 million in Nigerian currency) annually.
In terms of monthly salary, Simon receives €10,000 more than the second highest earner at the Canaries, Alban Lafont (€140,000) and Kalifa Coulibaly is third with a monthly salary of €125,000.
So far this season, Simon, the Super Eagles standout player at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, has directly participated in 10 goals (3 goals, 7 assists) in 24 appearances in the French top-flight.
Lorient's highest paid player, Terem Moffi pockets 75,000 euros gross monthly or 900,000 euros (N411 million) every year.
Completing the top five earners at Lorient are Laurent Abergel (70,000 euros), Jeremy Morel (65,000 euros), Fabien Lemoine (€60,000) and Armand Lauriente (€60,000).
Moffi has been involved in seven goals (4 goals, 3 assists) in 28 appearances in the Ligue 1 in 2021-2022.
