Akpeyi, Noble or Uzoho? Eguavoen chooses starting goalkeeper against Ghana
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigeria's caretaker manager Augustine Eguavoen has decided on the goalkeeper who will be in between the sticks for the Super Eagles when they take on Ghana at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, starting from 2030 hours.

An issue cropped up prior to the start of training on Tuesday, with the undisputed first choice goalkeeper Maduka Okoye forced to pull out of the 25-man roster on health grounds.

Eguavoen has handed the goalkeeping gloves to Omonia Nicosia star Francis Uzoho for the clash against the Black Stars and he made that important decision on Wednesday evening.

Uzoho was one of the standout players in the final workout before the trip to Kumasi, making a series of brilliant saves during the training session held at the National Stadium in Abuja.

Apart from his performance in training, the 23-year-old had the upper hand over his rivals John Noble and Daniel Akpeyi because he played a couple of matches for his Cypriot club after his return from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Uzoho, Nigeria's first choice goalie at the 2018 World Cup, has kept an impressive eight clean sheets in nineteen appearances for the Super Eagles.
