Super Eagles final workout : Arsenal legend in attendance; shooting practice; Iheanacho scores beauty
Published: March 29, 2022Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu was in attendance as Super Eagles held their final training session at the M.K.O Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on the eve of their crucial 2022 World Cup playoff against Ghana.
The former African Footballer of the Year was at the stadium to give support to the Super Eagles and greeted the players individually with a handshake as they made their way to the team bus after the training session on Monday evening.
Kanu represented Nigeria in three World Cups, 1998, 2002 and 2010, and trained with the team before their trip to the United States in 1994.
With the first leg ending goalless in Kumasi, it means all will be decided in Abuja on Tuesday, starting from 1800 hours.
Interim manager Augustine Eguavoen is aware that the Super Eagles must score in normal or regulation time to stand a chance of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
And to ensure that goals will be scored today, the Super Eagles perfected their shooting drills with Kelechi Iheanacho scoring the pick of the goals and Francis Uzoho making a couple of saves.
The Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper was the star performer for the Super Eagles last Friday and is expected to keep his place in goal this evening.
