Official : Nigerian Federation pull the plug on offering Eguavoen and assistants permanent deals
The Nigeria Football Federation have pulled the plug on offering permanent contracts to Augustine Eguavoen and his assistants Emmanuel Amuneke, Salisu Yusuf, Joseph Yobo and Alloy Agu.

Previously, Eguavoen was interim technical adviser of the Super Eagles, Amuneke was the chief coach, Yusuf the second assistant coach, Yobo third assistant and Agu the goalkeeper trainer.

The aforementioned coaches have been disengaged from the Super Eagles technical crew with immediate effect.

The Nigerian Federation have acted after the Super Eagles' disappointing 1-1 draw with Ghana on Tuesday evening - a result that saw them miss out on the 2022 World Cup on the away goal rule.

A two-and-a-half-year deal had been tabled to the coaching staff before the 2022 World Cup playoff with the Black Stars.

"The NFF has in the meantime withdrawn the two-and-half years contract offered the coaches and terminated the appointment of the entire technical crew of the team with immediate effect," the Nigerian Federation said in a press release.

"A new crew will be announced after a proper review to lead the new charge of reinvigorating the Super Eagles to face future challenges appropriately."

The Nigerian Federation thanked the coaches and team officials for their services to the national and wished them all the best in their future endeavors.
