Team of the Month honours for Super Eagles duo Okoye & Ozornwafor, Walsall's Osadebe
Published: April 02, 2022Football statistics website Whoscored.com has published the Teams of the Month from across the European Leagues with three players of Nigerian descent making the cut.
For the Dutch Eredivisie, Sparta Rotterdam's Maduka Okoye has been recognized for his outstanding performance in March with a spot on the Team of the Month.
The undisputed Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper was unbeaten last month, keeping back-to-back clean sheets against Go Ahead Eagles and NEC Nijmegen.
Okoye, who was rated at 7.6, could not take that form to the Super Eagles as he was forced to pull out of the squad for the 2022 World Cup playoff with Ghana due to illness.
Super Eagles star Valentine Ozornwafor was included in the Best XI for the Belgian Pro League and was awarded a rating of 7.4.
The central defender went the distance in the three games played by RSC Charleroi in March, helping them post shutouts in the home matches with Standard Liege and Cercle Brugge.
Walsall's Irish-Nigerian midfielder Emmanuel Osadebe cracked the EFL League Two Team of the Month .
Osadebe put in some impressive displays at wing-back last month, helping the Saddlers pick up nine points in six games with their only loss coming against Salford last weekend.
The 25-year-old directly participated in three goals (1 goal 2 assists) in the fourth-tier last month.
