Arsenal boss checks out three teenagers of Nigerian descent final training session pre-Brighton
Arsenal have completed their on-field preparations for Saturday afternoon's Premier League game against Brighton & Hove at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Spanish football tactician Mikel Arteta invited three teenagers of Nigerian descent to first team training on Friday, namely midfielder Miguel Azeez, winger Nathan Butler-Oyedeji and left-sided central defender Mazeed Ogungbo.

It is believed that the three players were not promoted to first team training just to make up the numbers as the Gunners have injury problems in the left-back and central midfield positions.

First-choice left-back Kieran Tierney has damaged his left knee and is set to be out for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season and Ghana international Thomas Partey suffered a significant injury in the recent game against Crystal Palace.

Ogungbo benefited from the absence of Tierney in Monday's clash at Selhurst Park, with Arteta handing him his first senior call-up since joining the club but he monitored proceedings from the bench for the entirety of the game.

Butler-Oyedeji is the only one out of three aforementioned players of Nigerian descent yet to be included in a first team matchday squad but training with the senior team is not something new to him.

Azeez has not been called up for an Arsenal first team game since April 15, 2021 when he was an unused substitute against Slavia Prague in the Europa League.
