Published: April 28, 2022Talented goalkeeper of Nigerian descent Darlington Osuchukwu has joined the Manchester United academy, according to Spanish newspaper Noticias de Navarra.
Mikel Garriz, president of Gazte Berriak, the Spanish team Osuchukwu last represented before relocating to England with his father, revealed this week that the Nigeria-eligible glovesman recently completed his move to Manchester United.
Garriz and the other members of Gazte Berriak, played a key role in helping Osuchukwu find a new team in England after his parents decided to live in England due to work issues.
The Gazte Berriak chief expects the 13-year-old to be a success at Manchester United given his potential and revealed that the Red Devils beat Osasuna to his signature.
"He had been in the Navarrese team, and a great goalkeeper. For the years he had, he has always been very tall and physically strong, he is 13 years old and is already 1.80 . He is an animal," Garriz said to Noticias de Navarra.
"We are super happy, he is a currela who trained like a Cossack. We always saw that he had qualities, Osasuna were interested in him, but then, that United go and sign him, unthinkable".
Osuchukwu joins Habeeb Ogunneye, Maxi Oyedele and Tunde Shoretire in the Manchester United academy.
