Published: May 09, 2022Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka was asked by Premier League | Uncut to build his ultimate team from the African players past and present who have played in the Premier League based on their attributes.
Two Nigeria legends in ex-Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins and Bolton Wanderers hero Jay-Jay Okocha made Onyeka's team, plus African players who played for Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

For pace, Onyeka went for Martins and chose former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure over Algeria star Riyad Mahrez when it came to passing.
"Mahrez can pass, Yaya Toure also can pass, I think I will go with Yaya, " the Nigerian said.
"Yaya is fast, he is a box-to-box midfielder, can dribble and shoot, all-round midfielder. I want to add to that game as well."
Okocha, Martins and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba were his preferred choices for dribbling, shooting and physicality respectively.

On Drogba, Onyeka stated : "He scores so many goals, strong, defender's nightmare."
The Super Eagles midfielder moved to the Bees last summer for a then-club record fee of ten million euros and made 20 appearances in the Premier League prior to his spell on the sidelines.
