Confirmed : Former Chelsea youth teamer Sodje offered new deal by Leyton Orient
Published: May 10, 2022EFL League Two club Leyton Orient have announced their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season.
Leyton Orient have confirmed that Nigerian defender Harrison Sodje has been offered his first professional contract.
Aged 18, Harrison is the biological son of Sam Sodje's first cousin and lives with the retired Nigeria international in the United Kingdom.
The left-back played for the academy teams of Chelsea and Charlton Athletic before joining Leyton Orient at U16 level.
Sodje started for a Leyton Orient XI in their friendly against Arsenal's development squad and gave a good account of himself in a 4-1 win.
He spent the last few months of the 2021-2022 campaign at Isthmian League side Aveley FC.
Meanwhile, Republic of Ireland youth international of Nigerian descent Shadrach Ogie, who was nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Young Player of the Season, has been retained by Leyton Orient and he is under contract for the 2022-2023 season.
