Confirmed : Two teenagers of Nigerian descent offered new contracts by Charlton Athletic
Published: May 23, 2022Through their official website, League One club Charlton Athletic have announced the retained and released list for their academy teams.
The Addicks are satisfied with the performances of four talented youngsters of Nigerian descent and are hoping to re-engage their services for next season.
Midfielder Jason Adigun and winger Tolu Ladapo have both been offered new contracts after excelling for the U18s over the course of the 2021-2022 campaign.
The two attack-minded players played key roles as Charlton booked their place in the U18 Professional Development League final.
On a personal level, Adigun won the Academy Goal of the Month for August/September, October, November and April 2022 for his stunning strikes against Swansea City, Cardiff City, AFC Wimbledon and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.
Charlton Athletic have triggered a one-year extension option on Sam Oguntayo's contract.
Second-year scholar at the start of the 2021-2022 season, Deji Elerewe signed his first professional contract in November and is under contract with the London club until June 2024.
