Nigerian-born Arsenal midfielder steps up his recovery from injury
Published: May 24, 2022Nigerian-Born Arsenal midfielder Tim Akinola has stepped up his recovery from injury.
The young talented midfielder who was on loan at Dundee United suffered a season-ending ankle injury in training and underwent successful surgery upon his return to the Emirates Stadium.
The central midfielder played only 45 minutes for The Tangerines before picking up the ankle injury that effectively ended his season.
He had been wearing a protective boot during rehabilitation and has now stepped up his return with the boots off.
Akinola who was signed by Arsenal without trial from Huddersfield is regarded as a top talent and his maturity on the ball is certainly a key element in the making of a future top-class midfielder.
Playing for the Arsenal U23s, Akinola was part of a sharp midfield that lifted the team into contention for the Premier League 2 title whilst scoring one goal from the midfield base.
The 21-year-old joined the Gunners from Huddersfield Town in the summer of 2020.
