Confirmed : Wolverhampton Wanderers retain two players of Nigerian descent
Published: June 02, 2022Following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season, English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers have confirmed their retained and released list.
For the players aged under 24, Nigerian defender Michael Agboola is contracted to Wolves for the 2022-2023 campaign.
Agboola joined Wolves in January 2019 after stops at Charlton Athletic, Southampton and Dagenham youth teams.
In the recently concluded season, the 20-year-old made eight appearances for the youth teams of Wolves, with seven of those games in the Premier League 2.
He helped Wolverhampton Wanderers secure promotion to the top-flight of youth football in England, Premier League 2 Division 1 last season.
Italian-born Nigerian defensive midfielder Temple Ojinnaka has also been retained and will enter the last year of his scholarship on July 1.
Last season, Ojinnaka started ten of the eleven games in which he tasted action in the U18 Premier League and also played in the U18 Premier League Cup.
The powerful midfielder first trained with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the age of twelve.
