Udinese chief rules out Nigeria-eligible left-back joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer
Published: June 18, 2022Udinese sporting director Pierpaolo Marino has appeared to rule out Italy U21 international of Nigerian descent Destiny Udogie transferring to Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Tottenham Hotspur director of football Fabio Paratici held transfer talks with representatives of the Italian-Nigerian defender earlier this week and one of the topics of discussion was for Udinese to lower their asking price for the talented teenager.
Udogie is one of the hottest prospects in Italian football at the moment after a breakout season with Udinese that saw him register five goals and three assists in 33 appearances in the Serie A.
He has been linked with a major transfer before the close of the window, with Inter Milan and Juventus also interested in him.
However, Marino's latest comments suggest that Udinese are not looking at selling Udogie until at least next summer.
Speaking to Udinese TV, via Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Marino said : "We're not used to sell our talents after one season".
Udinese director Marino: "Pablo Marì deal with Arsenal is absolutely not an easy negotiation for us. Nahuel Molina and Gerard Deulofeu could leave the club in case we receive a good proposal". ⚪️ #transfers

On Udogie-Spurs: "We're not used to sell our talents after one season".
With five years left on Udogie's contract with Udinese, the Bianconeri are in a strong position to demand a high transfer fee should they change their mind and decide to sell him.
