PL  Cup : Ideho forces own goal as Arsenal, Stoke City share points in 4-goal thriller

Arsenal U21s were held to a 2-2 draw by Stoke City in a Premier League Cup clash on Sunday afternoon, with five youngsters of Nigerian descent on parade at t St George's Park National Football Centre.

 

Nathan Butler-Oyedeji, who was an unused substitute against Juventus at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, went the full ninety for the Gunners and the striker was joined in the starting lineup by central defender Zach Awe.

 

Republic of Ireland underage internationals Gabriel Adebambo and David Okagbue started for the Potters U21 side.

 

Stoke City managed to take the lead five minutes before halftime through James-Taylor.who headed home a corner kick from McCarrron, but Arsenal struck back with two quickfire goals in the second half.

 

After Ben Cottrell equalized in the 76th minute, substitute Joel Ideho made an immediate impact after coming off the bench in the 78th minute as he forced an own goal after a swift counter attack at minute 81.

 

 Tezgel salvaged a point for Stoke City when he tapped in a cross from Singh with two minutes remaining.

 

Arsenal are guaranteed top spot in Group G of the Premier League Cup having accumulated eleven points from five matches.
