Hull City manager confirms interest in ex-Golden Eaglets invitee but nothing concrete
Published: December 21, 2022Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has confirmed that 2019 Golden Eaglets invitee Malcolm Ebiowei is a player of interest to The Tigers but stressed that there is nothing concrete as of now.
Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira resisted the temptation to send Ebiowei out on loan following his arrival at Selhurst Park in the summer as he felt the winger's development is best served at the Eagles.
However, the former Arsenal and Chelsea schoolboy has struggled for game time, logging 57 minutes in all competitions before the World Cup break.
Ebiowei has the ambition of representing the Young Lions at next year's FIFA U20 World Cup, so needs to playing regularly to stand a chance of making the squad.
Rosenior has admitted that the Anglo-Nigerian is a loan target and it's up to Crystal Palace to sanction the player's departure next month.
"He's (Ebiowei) one of a few people we're looking at. It's up to Crystal Palace as his parent club what they do with him," Rosenior was quoted as saying by Yorkshire Post.
"He's in our thoughts as many people are at the moment, but there's nothing concrete right now."
Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Swansea City have also been linked with a loan swoop for Ebiowei, who made his debut for England U20s in September.
