Highest scorer from a team Europe's top 5 leagues post-World Cup : Rashford outscores Osimhen
Published: February 17, 2023Red-hot Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is the top-scoring player from a team in the top five European Leagues since the season restarted after the 2022 World Cup break.
The official website of the Red Devils confirmed on Friday that the England international has mustered 14 goals in all competitions following his strike in the Europa League meeting with Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Thursday evening.
The closest players to Rashford are Wissam Ben Yedder and Erling Haaland, who have both tallied nine goals for Monaco and Manchester City respectively post-World Cup.
Behind the trio is Napoli's Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, who has found the back of the net on eight occasions.
The 25-year-old Rashford has scored against eleven different teams namely Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Wolverhampton Wanderers, AFC Bournemouth, Everton, Charlton Athletic, Manchester City, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Leeds United and Barcelona.
Osimhen has netted against six different clubs in the shape of Sampdoria, Juventus, Salernitana, Roma, Spezia and Cremonese.
It is worth mentioning that the Nigeria international has played eight games less than Rashford and is averaging a goal per game, which is statistically better than the Englishman's 0.88.
