The details of Napoli's proposal to Osimhen: Wages, length of deal and release clause
Published: July 07, 2023With a lot of speculation around the future of Victor Osimhen, Napoli have proposed a salary increase for the Super Eagles striker in a bid to keep him at the club beyond the summer.
Osimhen had 31 goals contribution (26 goals and 5 assists) in 32 league games last campaign to help Napoli win the Scudetto title, their first in the last 33 years.
Due to his performance for the Italian side last campaign, the Nigerian has been linked to Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and PSG.
Determined to keep the striker, Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis is prepared to renew the contract of the Nigerian striker in a bid to keep him at the club much longer.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Napoli Magazine, the Napoli chief has offered the Nigerian striker an increased salary and extended the duration of his contract by two additional years.
It was stated that the Italian side proposed to reduce their asking price for the former Lille striker in case of future transfer.
"De Laurentiis has proposed a significant increase in salary, from 4.5 to 7 million, extending the deadline from 2025 to 2027," La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote.
"At the same time, the club would lower its claims, through the inclusion of a release clause between 100 and 120 million, in all likelihood along the lines of Kim's, i.e. proportional to the buyer's turnover".
The future of Victor Osimhen is a concern for the Italian side considering the difficulties in finding a replacement due to the non availability of a top centre forward in the European market.
