What Super Eagles winger Chukwueze would bring to the AC Milan side if signed
Published: July 11, 2023The transfer window is an avenue for teams in Europe to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
One of the speculated stories is the movement of the Super Eagles striker Samuel Chukuwueze to Italian side AC Milan this summer.
The Nigerian star attracted the Italian giants due to his performances for Villarreal in the 2022/2023 campaign.
Chukuwueze scored 13 goals and 11 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions.
Despite the interest in the Super Eagles winger, the 19-time Italian champions have not gotten the deal over the line.
AC Milan who finished last season in fourth position with 70 points from 38 games are menace to teams on the counter-attack and created opportunities from long range shots.
With the style of play of the Italian side, Chukuwueze will add to the qualities of the teams.
Last campaign, Chukuwueze according to Whoscored.com attempted 1.6 shots per game, a better statistics than all Milan's wingers, except Rafael Leão who attempted 2.6 shots per game.
Another thing the youngster will add to AC Milan that can improve them ahead of next season is his ability to beat defenders.
The Nigerian winger completed more dribbles per game than all the players in the Milan squad last campaign, according to Whoscored.com.
Chukuwueze completed 2.3 dribbles per game, his closet rival in the squad his Rafael Leao who had 2.2 dribbles per game.
Judging by the playing style of the AC Milan and the contribution of the Nigerian striker last season, his addition will provide more firepower to the team in the forward position.
