Tottenham include Udogie in pre-season tour squad, reveal temporary jersey number
Published: July 14, 2023New Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has named his traveling squad for the club's pre-season Asia-Pacific Tour, with one Super Eagles-eligible player selected in the group.
Italy U21 defender of Nigerian descent, Destiny Udogie is in line to make his unofficial debut for the north London club, having been named in the traveling party that will fly out to Perth, Australia on Friday evening.
Promising striker Damola Ajayi has been omitted from the roster despite training with the first team players this week at Hotspur Way.
Ange Postecoglou has taken thirty one players to Australia, including Harry Kane and Davinson Sanchez despite speculation surrounding their futures.
Udogie's rival for a left-back role Ben Davies is also traveling with the team but Ryan Sessegnon misses out due to injury.
Tottenham informed via their official website that Udogie has been allocated a squad number of 73 during the tour fixtures but added that the number may not be his finalized squad number for the 2023-2024 season.
The Italian-Nigerian wonderkid reported for pre-season training on Wednesday and took part in his first training session, after spending last season on loan at Udinese.
The Lilywhites will take on West Ham United in their first pre-season game on Tuesday, July 18, followed by matches against Leicester City in Thailand (Sunday, July 23) and Lion City Sailors in Singapore (Wednesday, July 26).
