Nigeria battered São Tomé and Príncipe 6-0 in the last qualification game for a place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The starters
Goalkeeper
Francis Uzoho: It was a good day in the office for the Cypriot-based goalkeeper who was largely untested. He was very good with his distribution of the ball which was good to see. 7/10
Defenders
Ola Aina: Had nothing much to do defensively, made some decent attacking runs but needs to show more offensively.7.5/10
Semi Ajayi: The West Brom centre-half had nothing much to do but maintained his cool-headedness and calmness throughout the game. 7/10
Calvin Bassey: Showed aggressiveness in his tackles, showed composure when in possession of the ball and made some nice. passes. 7/10
Bruno Onyemaechi: Finally made his first start and didn't put any foot wrong 7.5/10
Midfielders and strikers
Frank Onyeka: The Brentford midfielder was the more attacking of the two central midfielders and helped in the build-ups from the right-hand side before his substitution in the second half. 7/10
Wilfred Ndidi: The stand-in captain led with great example by helping Nigeria maintain possession and dominance in the game. It was his precise pass that led to the penalty for the 4th goal. 8/10
Kelechi Iheanacho: Constantly found himself in pockets of space to pick a final pass, was at the heart of most of the chances the Super Eagles created especially in the first half. The Leicester City forward showed great vision to find Awoniyi for the third goal. 8/10
Ademola Lookman: Assisted the first goal with a precise cross from a corner kick and took his goal well. It was his pressing that led to the sixth goal, undoubtedly took the advantage given to him by Jose Peseiro. 8.5/10
Victor Osimhen: The leading 2023 AFCON qualifiers' top scorer was a thorn in the flesh of the Falcons and True Parrots' team yet again. Showed precision with a header for his first goal, won the penalty for the 4th goal and also calmly dispatched it before showing composure for Nigeria's 5th and his seventh career goal against the Falcons. 9.5/10
Taiwo Awoniyi: Was denied a goalscoring opportunity with a touch from a São Tomé defender and had his penalty appeal waived in the first half. Eventually got on the scoresheet with a good finish In the second half. 7/10
The substitutes
Victor Boniface: Got the assist for the 6th goal and didn't look out of place despite the game being his first appearance. 6/10
Samuel Chukwueze: Made an impact off thebench. The right winger took his goal well with a composed finish and was always looking to take on the tiring São Tomé and Príncipe's defence. 8/10
Tyronne Ebuehi: Got back into the team after a while and was brimming with confidence when he came on but did nothing substantial. 5/10
Joe Aribo: Started the game from the bench and came on to help Nigeria retain their dominance in the game but did nothing worthy of mention. 5/10
Raphael Onyedika: Came on as a very late substitute to be rated. N/A
