Boniface battles Xavi Simons, Beier for Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for September 2023
Published: October 09, 2023Nigeria international Victor Boniface is in the running for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award for the second consecutive time as he has been named as one of the nominees for September 2023.
He has been nominated alongside RB Leipzig's midfielder Xavi Simons and Hoffenheim's forward Maximilian Beier.
The Bayer Leverkusen striker featured in four Bundesliga games in September and notched 5 goal contributions including a brace against Darmstadt and newly promoted Heidenheim.
In contrast, Simons recorded four goal involvements for Leipzig while Beier had 3 for Hoffenheim in the month under review.
It has been a dream start for the Super Eagles forward who has quickly established himself as one of the most important players for Bayer Leverkusen.
He has played a vital role in ensuring Xabi Alonso's side sit atop the Bundesliga table by registering 9 goal contributions in 7 games.
Boniface won the Rookie of the Month prize in August and will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins.
