Bundesliga Team of the Month: Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface named in ideal XI
Published: January 01, 2024Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been named in Whoscored.com's Bundesliga Team of the Month for December.
He joins former Manchester City forward Leroy Sané who recorded two assists for Bayern Munich and Tottenham legend Harry Kane who had three goals for the Bavarians in the team.
Boniface was in spectacular form in December having recorded five-goal involvements in four games( 3 goals, 2 assists) to help Bayer Leverkusen end the year as Bundesliga table toppers.
The Nigeria international wasn't the only player from Xabi Alonso's side that made the team with Germany international Florian Wirtz also being recognized for his contribution having registered 2 goals and two assists in four games.
Union Berlin, Bayer Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen have the joint-most representatives with 2 players apiece while Borussia Dortmund, Heidenheim, Mainz O5, Eintracht Frankfurt and FC Köln has one player apiece in the team.
Boniface would be unable to feature for the Black and Red when they return to action on January 13 against Augsburg as he is set to represent Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
He has seventeen goal involvements across 16 games in the Bundesliga this season.
