2023 AFCON Nigeria v Cameroon: Three Indomitable Lions players to watch out for including Man Utd star

A blockbuster AFCON Round of 16 clash pitting heavyweights Nigeria and Cameroon beckons, with the Super Eagles wary of wounded lions led by Rigobert Song.

The Indomitable Lions manager has built a robust Cameroonian unit buttressed by emerging talents and experienced campaigners carrying an attacking menace.

As Nigeria bids to tame the Indomitable Lions this Saturday, allnigeriasoccer, com takes a look at three Indomitable Lions performers in particular that the Super Eagles must remain firmly focus on:

Karl Toko Ekambi

With a dazzling combination of close control, trickery and clinical finishing, Abha SC striker Karl Toko Ekambi maintains one of Cameroon's most potent individual scoring threat.

Just one goal at this tournament so far does not reflect the attacker's true talents - perfectly highlighted by spectacular strikes from distance in his time at Spanish giants Villarreal.

Now 31 years old, Toko Ekambi's pace has marginally declined but guile and precision from left wing berths remain.

Keeping his mazy dribbling and long shot ability in check provides Nigeria's sternest test.

Andre Zambo Anguissa

Though less flashy than Toko Ekambi, midfield enforcer Andre Zambo Anguissa provides the tenacity and physicality making life uncomfortable for opponents.

A towering presence, the Napoli destroyer brings boundless energy to Cameroon's engine room - especial in recovering possession.

Strong in the tackle with an imposing frame, Zambo Anguissa offers the ideal foil for creative minds alongside.

However, he can also drive forward surging past markers himself or deliver clever reverse balls catching channels.

Managing his box-to-box running is vital for Nigeria to gain any control through central areas.

Andre Onana

Between the sticks for rivals Cameroon stands the formidable frame of shot-stopper Andre Onana.

The Manchester United glovesman brings an imposing presence and excellent pedigree to frustrate Nigerian attackers.

Technically superb with the ball at his feet as well, Onana offers a sweeper-keeper dimension starting attacks from counter presses.

His stellar distribution can trigger rapid transitions catching Nigeria's defense unprepared if they cede possession cheaply.

Simply put - Andre Onana brings world class shot-stopping, physical traits, anticipation and ball playing skills presenting a complete package to thwart opponents.

If the Super Eagles fail to take their chances efficiently, they risk allowing a proven top-tier keeper like Onana to keep Cameroon in a knockout clash ultimately decided by slim margins.
