Watch Crystal Palace-owned goalkeeper Goodman make two incredible saves for loan club
Published: March 25, 2024Crystal Palace-owned goalkeeper Owen Goodman made two fantastic saves in Colchester United's 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town in an EFL League Two fixture last Saturday.
The Anglo-Nigerian shot stopper made an incredible save to deny Will Swan in a one-the-one situation from restoring parity for Mansfield Town, a minute before the end of the first half.
He could do nothing to prevent the home side from getting the equalizer goal through Lewis Brunt in the 63rd minute.
In the 76th minute, he made another fantastic stop to deny Swan yet again from getting his header into the back of the net with a fingertip save.
Deservedly, the 20-year-old was awarded the man-of-the match award for his performance which could prove helpful for Colchester United survival hopes at the end of the season.
The U's currently occupy the 22nd spot on the league standings with 34 points, a point ahead of Sutton United who sit in the first relegation spot.
Goodman has made 36 appearances across all competitions for the League Two side and has kept four clean sheets.
He is set to return to Crystal Palace at the end of the season after the expiration of his loan
