2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner Iheanacho on the radar of Crystal Palace
Published: April 23, 2024Apart from Wilfred Ndidi, another Super Eagles player is being linked with a potential move to Premier League side Crystal Palace.
According to talkSPORT, Ndidi may not be the only Leicester City star on the radar of Crystal Palace with summer target Kelechi Iheanacho also coming to the end of his deal.
Ndidi and Iheanacho's contracts with the Foxes are set to expire in June, and there has been no agreement on a contract extension yet, casting uncertainty over the future of the two Nigerian internationals at the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City have been charged with allegedly breaching Profitability & Sustainability Rules (PSR) and have been placed under a player registration embargo.
The Foxes cannot sign new players but can offer new contracts to existing players subject to the approval of the EFL.
2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner Iheanacho arrived at Leicester City from Manchester City in August 2017, and has gone on to feature in 231 matches in all competitions, directly participating in an impressive 95 goals (61 goals, 34 assists).
Should the striker depart Leicester City on a free transfer, he will not be lacking suitors in the Premier League, given that he is a homegrown player having spent the formative years of his career in England with Manchester City.
Iheanacho has tons of Premier League experience as he is four games away from reaching a milestone of 200 appearances in the top-flight.
The 27-year-old has found himself out of favour since his return from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, logging 101 minutes from a possible 1,260 in all competitions.
