According to a post shared on social media, Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman has paid a visit to Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Gusau, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

While the reason for the visitation is unknown at the moment, it may represent the 20-year-old's intention to associate himself with his mother's land.

Born in England to a British father and Nigerian mother, Goodman is eligible to play for England and Nigeria.

He is also eligible to represent Canada and has flirted with with the Concacaf nation in the past, having accepted a call-up to an U20 training camp in April 2022.

He was handed an invite to the Flying Eagles training camp in January 2023 ahead of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations but failed to honor the invitation as he was holding out for a call up to England Men's Elite League Squad which he eventually got.

The Anglo-Canadian-Nigerian shot stopper has represented the England U20s on two occasions, featuring in a friendly game against the United States in March 2023 and against Romania in the U20 Elite League last December.

He joined Crystal Palace as an U13 and signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2021 but is yet to feature for the first team though has made the Premier League matchday squad four times.

Goodman spent last season on loan with Colchester United and made 40 appearances across all competitions for the League Two side, posting four clean sheets.
