Bayer Leverkusen's N81.2b-rated striker Boniface on the radar of Saudi, English clubs
Published: January 22, 2025Victor Boniface is reportedly on the radar of several English and Asian clubs in the January transfer window.
Sky Deutschland says the Nigeria international has put himself in the shop window following his brilliant performances for Bundesliga champions Beyer Leverkusen, with teams in England and Saudi Arabia interested in signing the striker.
It has been suggested that an unnamed club from Saudi Arabia will firm up their interest in Boniface by making a offer to Bayer Leverkusen before the close of the winter transfer market.
As per the report, any club interested in the Nigerian attacker would need to offer at least 50 million euros (approximately N81.2 billion in Nigerian currency) to meet Bayer Leverkusen's demands.
Boniface has not figured for Bayer Leverkusen since November 9, 2024, after suffering a thigh injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles during their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda's Wasps.
However, he took part in full training on the eve of Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Atlético Madrid but remained rooted to the bench for the entirety of the game.
Bayer Leverkusen remain unfazed despite interest from England and Saudi teams as the player is not considered unsellable.
Since his arrival at Leverkusen from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2023, the 24-year-old has tallied 29 goals and registered 11 assists in 49 appearances.
Boniface has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the 2027-2028 season.
