Super Eagles skip morning training on Tuesday, opt for closed-door session at 4 pm

The Super Eagles of will skip Tuesday morning training session and instead resume in the afternoon without allowing the media to be present.

However, coach Finidi George and the players will address the media on Wednesday.

Nigeria is set to play against South Africa's Bafana Bafana on June 7 and, just three days later, against Benin Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match in Group C.

Preparing for the upcoming matches, Super Eagles coach Finidi George initially called up 23 players to participate.

Unfortunately, both Victor Osimhen and Nathan Tella have had to withdraw from the games due to injury and personal reason.

According to a press release by the Super Eagles media team, Nigeria's training session will not take place on Tuesday morning.

The team will reconvene for training at 4 pm in the evening without the presence of the media.

Nonetheless, a media session will be held on Wednesday in preparation for the upcoming match against South Africa.

This event will give journalists the chance to engage with the coach and players about their strategies to secure a win against the Bayana Bayana.

Currently, the Super Eagles are in third position in Group C, trailing South Africa, in second place, by just one point.

As a result, Nigeria face the impending danger of missing out on advancing to the final playoff round of the World Cup qualifiers, as only one team proceeds to the subsequent phase of the qualifiers.
