Confirmed: Nigerian center forward departs MLS side CF Montreal for FC Arda Kardzhali
Published: June 26, 2024Through a statement on their official website, Bulgarian top division club FC Arda Kardzhali have announced the signing of CF Montreal center forward Chinonso Offor on a permanent basis.
Offor was loaned out to FC Arda last February for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
The Bulgarian club had an option to make the 24-year-old striker's transfer permanent and have decided to exercise this option, effective today, Wednesday, June 26.
Arda Kardzhali have triggered the purchase option after his impressive performances during the second half of last season, with the Nigerian directly participating in five goals in eleven outings in the efbet Liga.
Offor's new deal with Arda Kardzhali is for three years, until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
A product of grassroots club Real Sapphire FC which produced Nigeria international Victor Boniface and Republic of Benin star Tosin Aiyegun, Offor started his career in Europe with Binatlı Yılmaz.
He then had spells with Cihangir GSK, Daugavpils, FK RFS and Chicago Fire, before moving to CF Montréal in August 2022.
Offor tallied six goals and two assists in seventy-one appearances in Major League Soccer, including four goals in thirty matches for CF Montréal.
FC Arda Kardzhali finished eighth in the Bulgarian First League in the past season.
