Everton confident of signing Super Eagles star with 192 Premier League appearances
Published: June 26, 2024According to Football insider, Everton are confident of signing Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi.
The report stated that talks are progressing between the Merseysiders and the Leicester City midfielder with the club hoping to complete a deal quickly so that he could join them for preseason.
It has also been claimed that the 27-year-old is open to moving to Goodison Park to work with Sean Dyche who is seeking to make the Toffees a better side next season.
Everton want to bolster their midfield department this summer and have signed Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Tim Iroegbunam, close to getting Olympique Marseille's Iliman Ndiaye and could be on the verge of adding Ndidi to the list.
Despite featuring in the English Championship last season, the Nigeria international's Premier League experience is undeniable, having amassed 192 appearances for Leicester City before they got relegated in 2023.
Coupled with the fact that he is going to become a free agent upon the expiration of his contract on the June 30, Ndidi is a prospective good buy for the Toffees.
He played an attacking role for the Foxes last term in the Championship and will add more dynamism and energy to Dyche's midfield besides his obvious Premier League experience.
