Meet Rose Adewusi: The Anderlecht forward capped by Belgium at youth level but eligible for Super Falcons
Published: July 01, 2024In a bid to strengthen their squad, Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht Women announced the capture of talented Super Falcons-eligible forward Rose Adewusi in May.
Anderlecht are the defending champions of the Lotto Super League which is the Women's top-tier division in Belgium and have remarkably won the title for the past seven seasons.
Adewusi was born in Belgium on March 20,2006 to a Nigerian father which obviously makes her eligible to play for Nigeria and Belgium national team.
She spent her formative years at Belgian side Zulte Waregem where she demonstrated her ability before Anderlecht snapped her up.
Adewusi made her breakthrough into Zulte Waregem's first team last season, making two appearances across all competitions.
The 18-year-old can play as either a midfielder or a forward and is known for her flair which is common with players of her age and she is also deemed a proficient shooter of the ball.
The fact that she will be joining Anderlecht senior squad immediately is a testament of her sheer quality and how highly she is revered in Belgium.
She has represented Belgium U-17 Women's team and was part of the squad that participated in the 2022 European U17 Women's championship where she made an appearance.
Adewusi currently represents the U19s which indicates that she is still eligible to play for the Super Falcons.
