Tri-national Arsenal forward eligible for Nigeria wanted by Standard Liege, Eupen in permanent deal
Published: August 07, 2024Tri-national Arsenal forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji has been linked with a move to Belgian sides Standard Liege and Eupen.
Butler-Oyedeji qualifies to represent Nigeria through his father, England where he was born and raised, as well as Island nation Saint Vincent through his mother.
According to Football insider, the two clubs are interested in securing the services of the Hale End Academy product permanently this summer.
The 21-year-old is yet to break into the first team and could be open to ending his stay with the north London club whom he joined as a schoolboy, at U9 level.
The first time he left Arsenal was the second half of the 2022/2023 season when he went out on loan to Accrington Stanley and couldn't find the back of the net in the 11 appearances he made for the English side
He also spent the first half of last season on loan with English League One side Cheltenham Town but struggled to impress, failing to score in the 14 appearances he made for the club.
Butler-Oyedeji returned to Arsenal in January to become one of the key players for the development squad, scoring in the Premier League 2 playoffs games against Manchester United and Chelsea.
With no sign of being in Mikel Arteta's plans for the forthcoming season, it is no surprise that he is being linked with a permanent departure with Standard Liege and Eupen battling to secure his signature.
