Ex-Leverkusen striker Jordan Zirkzee gives his brother Joshua the thumbs up after Man Utd debut goal

Former Bayer Leverkusen striker Jordan Zirkzee sent a message to his elder brother Joshua Zirkzee after the summer signing from Bologna scored on his debut for Manchester United in their hard-fought 1-0 win over Alex Iwobi's Fulham on Friday night at Old Trafford.

While the older Zirkzee is no longer eligible to represent the Super Eagles after becoming cap-tied to his country of birth, Netherlands at the 2024 European Championship last month, Jordan is still there for the taking as he's uncapped at international level.

Apart from the fact that they are both strikers, another similarity they share is that the two brothers played for the youth teams of VV Hekelingen Spijkenisse and Spartaan '20 Rotterdam before joining Feyenoord.

After he was an unused substitute in the Community Shield showdown with neighbors Manchester City, Joshua Zirkzee came off the bench to replace Mason Mount just past the hour mark as United searched for a breakthrough.

With his first attempt at goal for Manchester United, Zirkzee scored in the 87th minute to announce his entry to the Premier League and it turned out to be the winning goal.

On Saturday morning, Joshua Zirkzee took to Instagram to celebrate his exciting debut for the Premier League giants.

One of the messages that popped up in the replies was from his brother Jordan, who sent him love and thumbs-up emojis.

Jordan Zirkzee, 19, is searching for a new club following his release by Bayer Leverkusen at the end of last season.
