Saudi Arabian clubs join Watford, Sheffield Wednesday in race for Nottingham Forest striker Dennis
Published: January 28, 2025Emmanuel Dennis' future at Nottingham Forest is still unresolved, less than a week before the close of the summer transfer window in major European leagues.
Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo has sidelined Dennis, leaving him unregistered for the Premier League and unselected for any Cup matches this season.
Championship clubs Sheffield Wednesday and Watford are monitoring the situation of the Nigeria international with a view to a possible move, but the stumbling block could be his wages as the striker earns around four million pounds per season at the Reds.
According to The Star, clubs abroad, including Saudi Arabia, have an interest in signing Dennis.
Given the spending power of Saudi Arabian clubs, wages should not be an issue for them.
Sheffield Wednesday have only engaged in initial talks regarding Dennis, without advancing to the stage of making a firm offer.
The former Club Brugge man has had two different spells at Watford, registering twenty goal involvements in fifty-five all-competition appearances.
Dennis has not featured for Nottingham Forest since the final day of the 2022-2023 season, with players like Chris Wood, Taiwo Awoniyi, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Anthony Elanga ahead of him in the pecking order of forwards, despite his versatility as an attacker capable of playing both as a center forward and a winger.
The 27-year-old has a contract with Nottingham Forest until June 30, 2026, and was loaned out to Basaksehir FK and Watford last term.
