Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli submit bid in excess of N115b for Chelsea target Osimhen
Published: August 25, 2024After their failed pursuit to land Chelsea target Victor Osimhen last summer, Al Ahli have made another attempt to sign the Napoli star.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi Pro League club have offered a package in excess of €65m (more than N115 billion in Nigerian currency) for the striker.
As stated in the report, they are yet to reach an agreement with the reigning African Men's Player of the Year.
Al Ahli had attempted to sign the 25-year-old last summer by offering him mouth-watering wages and were willing to pay Napoli a record- fee for him but the deal didn't see the light of the day.
With no European clubs coming close to matching his valuation of 130 million euros, Al Ahli want to seize the opportunity to secure the services of the Nigeria international.
They finished third in the Saudi Pro-League last term and must be seeking how to dethrone Al Hilal this season with the injection of more quality players like Osimhen into their squad.
As the end of the European summer window looms, and with no deal on the table from Chelsea, doubts linger over whether the Super Eagles striker will consider moving to Saudi Arabia.
Napoli are already preparing for life without him as they are on the brink of announcing the signing of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku who is the anointed target for Antonio Conte to replace the Nigerian forward.
