Video: Watch Ndidi's silky skills on his way to scoring Leicester's third goal v Tranmere Rovers
Published: August 28, 2024Wilfred Ndidi scored a beautiful goal to open his goal scoring account for Leicester City during their Carabao Cup second round victory over Tranmere Rovers, played at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night .
In the 71st minute of the clash, Ndidi netted the Foxes' third goal when he found himself on the right side of Tranmere's defensive line, he passed the ball to Harry Winks who fed the ball to Jordan Ayew.
Ayew played a pass deftly to Ndidi who sat Tranmere centre-back Jordan Turnbull on his back side in a Lionel Messi-esque move before dispatching the ball past the goalkeeper Joe Murphy.
The Super Eagles midfielder has been in fine goal scoring form for Leicester City in the last 12 months, as he has been given the license to surge forward more than ever before, owing to the arrival of Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur.
He scored six goals and registered six assists across all competitions for the Foxes last term which was the highest ever goal involvements he has recorded since his arrival at the King Power Stadium.
Steve Cooper who replaced Enzo Maresca as Leicester City's boss this summer has decided to keep using the midfielder in a more advanced role which helped him in scoring against Tranmere for the second consecutive time in the Carabao Cup.
