Super Eagles hopeful Adams gets medical green light to return to action for Montpellier

Super Eagles hopeful Akor Adams has received the medical green light and will be available for selection on Sunday afternoon when Montpellier take on Lens in a Ligue 1 fixture at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.

The former Nigeria U20 international did not figure for Montpellier in their last two games in the division due to the injury he suffered during the 3-1 victory against Brest on November 10.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Friday, Montpellier coach Jean-Louis Gasset confirmed that Adams will be in the travelling squad to Pas-de-Calais.

Without Adams spearheading the attack, Montpellier suffered a 1-0 defeat to Saint-Étienne and were held to a 2-2 draw by Lille in their most recent Ligue 1 outings.

The 24-year-old started the season in remarkable form, contributing to five goals in his first six appearances in the French top flight but he's experiencing a goal drought at the moment, having failed to find the back of the net in his last six games.

Jean-Louis Gasset faces a crucial decision, whether to include Adams in the starting lineup against Lens or bring him on as a substitute.

The former Lillestrom goal poacher has started ten of the eleven matches he has been available for selection this season.
